) and am seeking ammo advice as well as any general M1A Scope Mounts advice. Dunno about the caliber difference. I’ve been reloading and shooting .308 in my 2003 SA M1A Scope Mounts Standard for a year now with no issues. I’m dialed in to +/- MOA accuracy at the present. Hope to shrink that just a little with time and more experimentation. Don’t shoot anything heavier than 175 grains or it could bend your op rod. I generally always shoot 165-168 grain bullets. Watch for slam fires. Make sure your primers are seated at least flush with the case head to help avoid that problem. There are several powders used for loading for the M1A, but IMR4895 seems to be "the standard" and the one I always use. I’ve also acheived excellent results with it out of my .30-06 bolt rifle. Check the brass after every firing. I’ve heard more than once that one should use .308 brass for no more than four firings. I’m on #3 on some of my brass with no issues. But I have noticed a loosening in the neck tension and I attribute that to case stretching and trimming material away. So I can see why the usefull life of .308 brass is short. Whereas I’m up to a dozen loadings on some of my -06 brass. And finally… just go out and have FUN! –

Just realize that the possibility exists and maintain proper muzzle discipline and it should never be a problem.

Keep and eye out for them on gun broker also.

Still no Dillo Dust after a couple orders, though. Is there a certain amount you have to spend before getting any? So I am looking into my first AR15 purchase and after some great feedback from the AR15.com community, I have my heart set on LaRue.

In reviewing, I found the LaRue Tactical OBR 5.56 18″ to really catch my eye, then later found the LaRue Tactical PredatAR 5.56 18″ – though I see some of the differences in the features tab, I wanted to get some feedback from the LaRue Tactical community on the real major differences.

It will offer you an absolute co-witness, so if you’re looking for a lower 1/3 co-witness with your iron sights you will need a raised base (like a YHM EOTech base) or consider a 517. mikeyp03 Apr 2011 USA CT, USA Online Posts: 80 : 0-0-0 : 6/13/2011 7:01:26 I actually just received a 512 today from another arfcom here from the EE. Great deal and really nice sight. Looks practically brand new. Of course I havent shot with it yet, but I cant wait to get out there with it. I’ve been aiming outside and the dot gets really bright…dont even need it on the highest setting in direct sunlight. If you have no plans of ever using night vision go with the 512. Also definitely check out the EE for good deals you should be able to find a nice one for around $300. wkywthunter

Does anybody have one and like it or dislike it? Would it be worth getting one? R0N [Team Member] 8/9/2010 4:58:17 AM It an adequate weapon for the stated requirement, provide effective fire to 550 ms, the cons coming from troops in the field are its it considered heavy for what you get, it has issues with maintainability, accuracy and repeatability. This is an excerpt from a study done by the army last year in regard to the system. I am sure in a few hours a certain person who is a fan boy of the system will come along and say the troops in the field don’t know what they are talking about. FOA Team XI conducted the EBR14 operational assessment with Soldiers operating in and around multiple locations in Afghanistan from 5 December 2008 through 1 January 2009. This assessment is not to be construed as the United States Army Test and Evaluation Command (USATEC) system evaluation report for the EBR14. Per direction of the Army Evaluation Center, surveys were also collected on the legacy M14 Scope Mounts.

I said a 3-9 x 40 ,something better than Nc Star so I know its going to last and that its as good as ,or is a Leupold ,he asked what’s Leupold what’s Nc Star I told him a Leupold is one of the best its what’s specialist use ,and that Nc Star was the best cheap Chinese Rifle Scope that I had looked at and saw some mixed reviews ,that they fog up ,turrets break ,lens leaks ,but some people love them. 3 days later my brother calls me up tells me he has a new Nc Star and that its rubberized and has a laser on it, and that it he got 2 of them with a raiser and hardware for 300. He said a man at the gun show one that he didn’t buy from told him that he has a Leupold and a Nc Star and his eye can’t tell the difference that Nc Star was way under priced. So has anyone used or been around both these scopes to have a opinion that is not based on ads or the militarys choice. Not even close, it’s one of the worst! Doing this would take off the finish whether it be anodizing or phosphate, or whatever. I don’t like that. While there may not be any standard way of installing Scattergun Ghost Rings, I would imagine that Remington has a standard jig set up for their 870P MAX production so that all their guns go out the door the same. Mesa, is there anyway you can check on this? If you can confirm that the SureShell will clear the rear sight, I will be ordering one.

However, seems all the reviews I read about Trijicon AR sights are about 50-50. Based on some of your experiences here, which do you feel is the better route? If there’s a better night sight you recommend, by all means, put it up. Thanks. I have an AR upper with Trijis. It’s a personal decision, really. In very dark conditions, I find the rear dots were overpoweringly bright and would make it impossible to see what you were aiming at. Sure you could see the dots, but not much else. In dusk, no issue, just the dark was impossible. now that the AR has aged, and the trijis are 12 years old, I find the rear perfect (halflife, so it is half as bright as new) but I plan on replacing the front sight with a new triji. Also keep in mind that the front sight post is wider than stock. And with the rear triji, the inserts are mounted only on one of the appertures, so you can always flick the apperture to the other one if you like. AR_NuTTZ Jun 2011 USA USA 6 : 0-0-0 : 6/15/2011 11:32:05 Sorry, I havent used it with a red dot sight but I am guessing it would be abit busy, (especially during the day). Just something to keep in mind, the sight isnt always going to stay bright like a red dot sight.
